1. Fix 3194 in DFU mode

Step 1:

Quite iTunes in your MAC/Windows computer.

Step 2:

Open host file,

  • For Mac: Go on this path: /ect/hosts
  • For windows: c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Step 3:

Open hosts file with administrate rights.

Step 4:

Copy the below line and past in Host file in last.

Step 5:

Now connect your iPhone (iPad and iPod touch) with your computer through the lighting cable.

Step 6:

Open iTunes.

Step 7:

Switch off your iPhone by holding sleep/power button.

Start DFU mode by hold, power and home button together for 10 second then release only power button. Hold home button continuously until iTunes shows message “your device in now in recovery mode” in iPhone/iPad/iPod touch.

update your iOS with restore features in iTunes and Go back the host file again.

Remove last line entered by you from host file, recently.

  3. I cannot save in the host file. It says I do not have administrative privileges which makes no sense since it is my own personal computer! Help!

    • Hi. Right-click on the host file and go to properties. Then click on security tab and change your permissions for the file.

    i have the same problem as above
    keep getting error 3194, even after adding those 3 lines
    my device is iphone 4s ios 7.1.1 already jailbroken, want to upgrade to ios 8.4.1
    but keep getting error 3194 on my latest itunes
    is there any other way around?
    or it’s already impossible,?

  6. Solving the iphone error of 3194 and 21 I got both errors. I made sure my anti-virus was off and using itunes software I made sure I authorised my computer with iTunes store. To authorise click the very small square button (half black half grey) at the top left corner inside itunes, select iTunes Store, then select Authorise this computer then begin to restore and update. It worked and resolved these errors it may even resolve other errors.
