However, one more option is given to you through which you can disable the automatic updates. And so in the HomePod, we can turn off the auto-update feature. When Apple releases any new update for HomePod, it will install the new version automatically if you have turned on the auto-update.

In case the auto-update is disabled you will need to check for updates manually in your iPhone/iPad on the Home app.

Let’s check how we can disable auto software update

1 Homepod Software Update enable and Disable

  • Step 1: Launch the β€œHome” app.
  • Step 2: On the top left corner, tap on a small arrow.
  • Step 3: There click on β€œSoftware Update” and β€œInstall Updates automatically disable” it.

If in case your mind changes and you want to enable auto-update then follow the same above steps.

Since you’ve turned off the auto-update, the updates will not get installed automatically. For installation, you need to check for updates manually.
