Fix GarageBand Not Working in iPhone, iPad, Mac

1: Remove Magnetic Accessories

Is your iPhone, iPad covered with any sort of magnetic accessory? Because the Magnetic Accessories might create interference with the GarageBand app and won’t let it work properly. Therefore, when the GarageBand has stopped working, remove all the accessories for once and try using the app.

In another case, you can keep the iPhone and iPad away from any magnetic devices like home appliances. It might work for you.

2: Update System Software

Didn’t have Magnetic Accessories or already removed, but still GarageBand not working? Let’s try to update the System Software to the latest version. In some cases, outdated software could create glitches between programs and apps. It’s your best chance to update the firmware.

Make sure the device is connected to the Wi-Fi to ensure smooth update.

Update iOS:

  1. Go to the Settings App.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Select Software Update.

Update MacOS:

  1. Click on the Apple menu.

Since it’s not an Android phone, so resetting GarageBand in iPhone is not possible. However, in the Mac, it’s quite easy to reset the apps by using the Terminal Command. By this, all the settings of GarageBand will be reset to default, which you can, of course, change later.

  1. Go to Terminal App in Mac.
