Resetting and DFU is the last step to deal with the troubleshooting on your iPhones. When everything you tried and nothing works, then you must go with the reboot and DFU (device recovery mode) to solve all the problems. Reboot is just the forced restart you can apply. Steps for Restart, Reboot, and DFU mode on iPhone
Restart:
For iPhone X: Press and Hold the Side button and Vollume Up or Down until you see a slide to turn off button on the screen.
For iPhone 8, 8 Plus: Press and Hold the Sleep/wake button until you see a slide to turn off icon on the screen
Shut Down Without Side button: Go to Settings > General > Shut Down. [Required iOS 11 or later]

Force Restart
For iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X & later:
- Press and Quickly Release Volume Up button,
- Press and Quickly Release Volume Down Button,
- Press and Hold Side Button until you see the apple logo on Screen.
To Start the iPhone, Again press Side button until Startup apple logo on the screen.
For iPhone X: For Hard Reboot iPhone X or Hard Reset iPhone X, the Same Process we should that follow on iPhone 8 or 8 Plus. (Note: Hard Reboot or Restart never erase data)
DFU Mode: iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus
Turn off iPhone if it isn’t. Also, Launch iTunes on your Mac or PC. Don’t connect iPhone to iTunes.
For iPhone X: DFU Mode
Press and hold the Side button for 3 seconds. Next, continuously press and Hold Volume up button for 10 seconds. That means to keep holding down both buttons for 10 seconds.
You will see “Plug into iTunes” screen, which Means 8 Pins Lightning cable show up on the screen.
Now, Screen goes black, and your iPhone X goes into DFU mode. You will get an alert from iTunes for Restore.
For iPhone 8, 8 Plus: DFU Mode
For applying the DFU mode on your iPhone or iPad, Don’t plug in iTunes.
Make sure that iTunes is running, and turn Off your iPhone if it is not.
Then press the Sleep/Wake button on the right side for at least 3 seconds and simultaneously hold the volume up button.
You have to do the process for at least 10 seconds till the Apple logo will appear, and it starts again.
Then you have to let go of the On/ Off button, but you must hold the volume up button for more than 5 seconds till the screen stays black, and your iPhone is in DFU mode. your iPhone will go for restore allow it on iTunes.
Put iPhone in Recovery Mode
Then your iPhone will show you an alert of being restored at that time and notify you about that. If any logo is shown on the screen, you are in recovery mode, but the DFU mode is not enabled. If your iPhone recovery mode works great, then let it is rather trying the DFU mode, but if the recovery mode is not working, then you must try the DFU mode on your iPhone, and hence all the troubleshooting will be solved.
Note: iTunes is open, then close on a Computer or Mac.

#2: Next, Force Restart iPhone (Press and Quickly release the Volume up button, Press and Quickly release the Volume down button, Press & Hold the Side button until you see the recovery mode screen). now on iTunes, you can go with two options (Restore or Update).
Restore: Wipe all the Data and install the latest iOS automatically.
Update: Keep all data as an Upgrade to the latest iOS version.
