Message is not showing contact picture: iPhone 6, iPad, iOS 9

Saved contact pictures on text message or iMessage is lovely features for iOS users using iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6S or 6S Plus. iOS 8, iOS 9 or later versions gives option for enabled messages with contact pictures. But for the users who have made wrong settings, Can’t enable or show up contact picture on each recipients. here is alternate options for Message is not showing contact picture on iOS 9.

On small screen iOS device (less than 4.7 inch screen, iPhone 5S or earlier device doesn’t show contact profile picture). But you have iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6S or 6S Plus then you can enable contact picture in message app.

Go to the settings > Messages > Show Contact Photos enable toggle.

Now you can see profile picture as of set in contact app contacts. For not saved picture on contacts would be black profile icon, See below image.

in this case if you are in large display mode. Jus revert back to standard display mode.

Check and verify by Go to the Settings > Display & Brightness > Display Zoom (Choose Standard) and Tap on Set from Top right corner. Restart required for change settings. Message is not showing contact picture for iphone, iPad


Same contact number saved on different contacts name, means avoid contact name duplication and set perfect Profile photo for that.

Go to the Contacts app > Contacts > Type name in search box or contact number (xxx-xxx-xxxx) in format.

Tap on Name, there you want set profile picture. Next, Tap on Edit from top right corner.

add photo > Choose Photo/ Take Photo.

Tap on Done. will be show like whatsApp profile.Set profile picture for message app
