Michigan Woman Wins $100K Powerball Prize Using ChatGPT Numbers

A Michigan woman has gone viral after claiming she won a $100,000 Powerball prize using numbers generated by ChatGPT.

Tammy Carvey, 45, from Wyandotte, said she asked ChatGPT to create a set of “lucky numbers” before purchasing her Powerball ticket online for the September 6 draw. Instead of using birthdays or family dates, she decided to try artificial intelligence — and it worked.

Her ticket matched four out of the five white balls plus the red Powerball, earning her a $50,000 prize. Because she had also selected the Power Play option, her winnings doubled to $100,000.

Carvey said she and her husband were “in total disbelief” when they realized what had happened. “I thought it was a glitch at first. I double-checked, and it really said one hundred thousand dollars,” she shared.

She plans to use the money to pay off her mortgage and set aside the rest for savings. “I never imagined AI would bring me luck like this,” she laughed.

While ChatGPT can’t actually predict lottery outcomes — since draws are entirely random — her story has sparked huge attention online. Many users have begun experimenting with AI tools for everything from meal planning to, apparently, Powerball numbers.

Lottery officials reminded players that luck remains the only factor. Still, Tammy’s story has turned into a feel-good example of how technology can unexpectedly change someone’s life.

Whether you call it coincidence, fate, or AI luck, this Michigan winner just proved that sometimes taking a digital gamble can really pay off.
