How to use/ Setup and Apply MacID on Mac: On Yosemite or Later, iOS 8 or later
MacID for iOS is third party app to authorize your Device very securely with different unlock options, You are already aware of it. Using Passcode, Apple ID, and Touch ID.
Step 1: once confirm that your device on Bluetooth 4.0 LE (Low Energy) – BTLE.
Step 2: Download MacID for OS X and install it.
Step 3: First time you can see the list of iOS device inside the connected device menu.
Step 4: Once you download and open MacID for iOS in your iOS 8 device. Then on your Ma,c you can see that iOS device under the connected device.
Step 5: Tap on a device where you want remotely unlock your Mac. Now you have to enter Mac password for future authorized. 
Step 6: Now you can apply three different locking options. 1. Lock Screen, 2. Auto Lock, 3. IOS Touch ID.
Step 7: the Third option is very proficient and secure compare to the other two.
Step 8: Now you are done for lock setup.
Now for unlock selected Mac device, just launch App from an iOS device and Tap on the device that you want to unlock remotely by entering Passcode, Apple ID or TouchID.
