All the iPhone XS Max and iPhone XS users are grateful to Apple after using Portrait Mode in Camera. So after capturing a photo in Portrait Mode in iPhone XS Max and iPhone XS you can simply adjust the intensity of Bokeh right from the Edit menu. It is nothing but you are making the background blur of the photo that was already taken in Portrait Mode.
You cannot get this kind of Depth Effect in iPhone X, iPhone 8 Plus or in iPhone 7 Plus naturally using the same camera. But iPhone XS Max and iPhone XS gives the natural depth effect with its camera sensor, which is similar to the pictures of DSLR. However, with third-party applications you can get such depth effect even in iPhone X, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone 7 Plus.
NOTE: You cannot get such quality if you are capturing photos in iPhone 7 or iPhone 8 or iPhone 6, because they don’t have a dual camera.
Apply Bokeh effect on iPhone 7, iPhone 6, iPhone 8/ 8 Plus Camera app.
How to Edit Background Blur Photos in iPhone X, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone 7 Plus
The app of which we are talking about is Focos, and I am a huge fan of this app. Focos had helped me always when I shot the picture in Portrait Mode; still today also I am using this application. Without this app, the iPhone will ruin your image instead of background blur your entire image will be messed up.
The regular Portrait Mode of iPhone will create trouble with ears or glasses. Instead, the Focos allows you to change the focus along with adjusting the intensity accordingly. Just open the photo in the Focos app and customize the depth effect as per your requirement.
How to use Focos app on iPhone, iPad
- Step #1: Install the “Focos” app from the App Store.
- Step #2: Launch the app once it gets installed.
- Step #3: If you have already taken the picture then select it from the app, or you can also take a picture right from the app and edit it.
- Step #4: To change the effects you have to move the slider after selecting options like Aperture.
- Step #5: Tap “Save” when you are done editing.
NOTE: There are few more advanced features like specialized lens are available but to use them you have to take a subscription.
With Focos you can also manage the aperture size from f/20 to f/1.4 which is more than the iPhone XS. Once you complete the editing of the image, you can Share with anyone. Additionally, you can also change the shape of the depth effect and view the 3D; it has the 3D editing tool too.
Some part of this app is free that gives basic settings and allow to change Background Blur effect after takes a photo using Focos app.
