I’m not criticizing Instagram, we all know that Instagram has gained many more users within a short time compared to any other social apps. How to Deactivate Instagram Account
Note: To disable Instagram, you cannot use the Instagram app because the app doesn’t have an option to temporarily deactivate Instagram account, it can only be done from Computer.
Reasons to Deactivate Instagram account
Instagram will ask you choose one of reasons to deactivate your account. For Example,
- This is temporary,
- I’ll be back,
- Can’t find people to follow,
- Too many ads,
- Privacy concerns,
- Want to remove something,
- Concerned about my data,

- Created a second account,
- Trouble getting started,
- Something else.
What will happen when you temporarily deactivate Instagram account?
Once you temporarily deactivate your Instagram account, all of your pictures, likes, comments, and profile will disappear from Instagram until you reactivate it.
Deactivate Instagram Account
- Go to Instagram on your macOS or Windows PC.
- On the left-lower side, click on the “More” (three horizontal lines) option.
- A settings pop-up with options, Click on Settings looks like a gear icon.
- So now, on the right-side panel, you can view profile information; please scroll the screen and click on the blue color text link “temporarily deactivate my account.”
- The next screen will show your temporarily deactivate your account info page; click on why are you deactivating your account? Choose one of the reasons.
- In next, To continue, please re-enter your password

- Finally, click on “temporarily disable my account.”
- Note – When you press the button below, your photos, comments and likes will be hidden until you reactivate your account by logging back in.
- A pop-up will ask you You’re about to temporarily deactivate your account. Go ahead? Click Yes

Now you desktop will show you a message (Your Instagram account has been temporarily disabled. To reactivate it, log back in.) with Instagram login screen.
