Stop iTunes backup during sync for iPhone/ iPad on Mac, Windows

Auto Backup iOS device data to system, sometimes it is time killing process that we can bypass or set to disable manually on Mac (MacOS Sierra, EI Capitan, Yosemite) or PC (Windows). People who don’t wants to keep continues with this Apple’s process, connect iPhone/ iPad/ iPod Touch to iTunes can follow these steps. Apple’s Latest trends on large storage up to 256 GB obviously take more time to save complete backup when we connect it to iTunes via lightning cable on Mac/ PC. Let’s stop iTunes backup automatically for iPhone 7/ 7 Plus, iPhone 6/ 6S and Others.

You have two options for stop or Disable Auto iTunes backup permanently or Temporary.

Steps for Stop iTunes backup during sync iPhone/ iPad/ iPod: Alternate Ways

1 Stop iTunes backup on iPhone iPad

Temporary kill/ Stop backup process run time in iTunes

Mostly people are trying to stop runtime backup process after connect Device to iTunes Mac/ PC.

2 Backup to iTunes before restore iPhone iPad and iPod Touch

Yes, that’s possible. Carefully see the Process bar near to above you will find stop sync process icon and then Cross mark to completely stop or close it.2 Temporary Stop auto backup in iTunes

Permanently Disable/ Stop iTunes backup during sync for iPhone/ iPad

On Mac

Close iTunes at first,

1: Go to the Apple menu from top right corner.

2: Click on System Preference; Find “Terminal” or Type Terminal in Spotlight search.

3: Type the command below,

defaults write com.apple.iTunes DeviceBackupsDisabled -bool true

Tap enter to run command, Now Auto backup stop automatically on Sync with iTunes.

Turn on Auto backup again, and then go with below command,

defaults write com.apple.iTunes DeviceBackupsDisabled -bool false

On Windows

Open command prompt, Depends on 32 or 64 Bit system run below command,

For 32 bit:

“C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe” /setPrefInt AutomaticDeviceBackupsDisabled 1

For 64 bit:

“C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunes.exe” /setPrefInt AutomaticDeviceBackupsDisabled 1

Above steps really help full on change settings for Disable/ Stop iTunes backup during Sync iPhone/ iPad/ iPod Touch or iTunes automatic backup iPhone.
