How to Start an Activity Competition on Apple Watch, Manage Notifications: watchOS 7

With WatchOS 5, learn about start Activity Competition. Another notable improvement in watchOS 5 is fitness and health. There are many new features are added to Activity app to motivate you and keep you healthy and fit. The Apple has added a competition function which lets you to compete with your friends and family members. You can compete with others by sharing your Activity data with them.

Just like fitbit activity app, now we can check or compare the competitor’s activity by using Activity Competition option in apple watch.

You might also get the message “To start sharing your activity, use the activity app on your iPhone”. Fix the issue from below steps carefully.

Let’s take a look at how to start activity competition on Apple Watch in WatchOS 5 or later

Step 1: First off, you have to update the Apple watch to watchOS 5 and which is currently available for registered developers only. It is also necessary that you have the latest iOS 12 version on your iPhone.

NOTE: Once you update the Apple watch to watchOS 5 then there is no coming back to watchOS 4. In case of iPhone, you can downgrade iOS 12 to iOS 11.

Step 2: After updating to watchOS 5, press the “Digital Crown to launch applications” Apps home screen. Now locate and “open Activity App on Apple watch“.

Step 3: Next, “swipe to go on Activity Sharing” and “select the person” with which you want to compete.

Step 4: To proceed, scroll down and find “Compete button in golden color”.

Step 5: Now you will see a prompt asking you to “invite that selected person“.

Step 6: If the opponent accepts the invitation then you will see the competitions which are located on the top of the Activity Sharing list.

All these competitions record last for only seven days. Right now it is not declared how you will earn points. Probably points will be allocated as per weekly performance.

You can also check the Activity Sharing and competition data on your iPhone from the Activity Sharing app.

Manage, Enable or Disable Activity Competition on Apple Watch

We can stop notifications for Activity Competition that share by your Competitors.

Step 1: Open “Watch app” on iPhone (iOS 12 and WatchOS 5).

Step 2: Find and Tap on “Notifications” option.

Step 3: See “Activity” Settings. Tap on it and See “Notifications Off”.
