Solution 2: Force Restart iPhone
Before jumping into more advanced fixes for Gmail not working on Safari on your iPhone, try giving your device a quick restart to see if that solves the issue. A force restart can clear background apps and minor glitches that might be interfering with Safari’s performance.

- Press and quickly release the Volume Up button.
- Press and quickly release the Volume Down button.
- Press and hold the Side/Power button until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
Solution 3: Reset Safari
Reset Safari refers to cleaning up the cookies and caches of the browser. This can be helpful because when you surf on Safari browser, you are opening the gate for millions of files to enter in your iPhone. And so one destructive file can result in the uneven performance of the app like Gmail not responding on Safari iPhone.
- Launch “Settings”.
- Scroll to Apps.
- On this page, scroll down the screen to the “Safari” app.
- Select “Clear History and Website Data”.
- Now choose All History.
- In the end, tapping on Clear History.

Kindly note that you will lose all of your web history, and the good news is that Safari will not modify any settings related to AutoFill information.

- Launch the “Settings” app.
- Tap “General”.
- Choose “Software Update”.

If an update is available for your iPhone, then you will see it there.
few other problems might be creating a problem like this,
You have a good internet connection; Because the Browser will take more data compared to the app. You might feel Gmail’s email load slowly and stuck on open.
Gmail servers might be busy in your region.
Don’t use Third-Party Software or Browsers to open the Gmail app. (VPN or low-performing Browser app). Use only Safari. Because I always tried with Safari only.
Safari is not showing on your iPhone. Check that Safari is disabled or restricted in screen time settings to use. For this, follow Solution Six.
Solution 6: Disable/Enable Safari
Disabling Safari might sound odd, but if Gmail isn’t loading on Safari on your iPhone, it’s worth giving it a try — it won’t harm your device.
- Open the “Settings” app.
- Select “Screen Time”.
- Tap “Content & Privacy Restrictions.”

- Choose Allowed Apps
- Enter the Screen time passcode (If you don’t remember, – you can reset screen time passcode)
- Now turn the toggle to the left side to hide Safari on your Apple smartphone or iPad tablet.

Similarly, you can unhide Safari by turning the toggle green in the Screen Time settings.
