Fix iPhone Mirroring Not Working on MacOS Tahoe and iOS 26

If you’ve just updated your Mac to macOS Tahoe (macOS 26) and your iPhone to iOS 26, you may have noticed that iPhone Mirroring—the shiny new feature that lets you view and control your iPhone right on your Mac—sometimes refuses to connect or simply shows a blank screen. Don’t worry, you’re not alone. Many users are running into pairing glitches, Wi-Fi handoff hiccups, or system permission issues after the upgrade.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through the most common causes of iPhone Mirroring not working on macOS Tahoe and iOS 26, and show you step-by-step fixes to get your devices talking to each other again—no extra cables or third-party apps required.

  1. Both devices signed in with the same Apple ID.
  2. Both devices are connected to the Same WiFi network.
  3. iPhone installed iOS, and Mac installed macOS.
  4. VPN must be Turned Off, and Bluetooth is on for both devices.
  5. Enable “iPhone mirroring on Mac”, go to Apple Logo > System Settings > Desktop & Dock > Enable toggle Use iPhone Widget. That’s it.
  6. On iPhone, Launch Settings -> General -> AirPlay & Continuity -> iPhone Mirroring and choose a Mac.

Sign Out & Sign in with Apple ID and Try after Restarting the Device

To sign out of your Apple ID on a Mac, follow these steps:

Step 1: Open System Settings:

  • Click on the Apple menu in the upper-left corner of your screen and select System Settings (or System Preferences on older versions of macOS).

Step 2: Access Apple ID:

  • In the System Settings window, click on Apple ID at the top.

Step 3: Sign Out:

  • Scroll to the bottom of the sidebar on the left and click Sign Out. (Sign Out Grayed Out)
  • You may be prompted to enter your Apple ID password to confirm the sign-out process.

Step 4: Keep a Copy of Your Data:

  • Before signing out, you’ll be asked if you want to keep a copy of your iCloud data on your Mac. Choose the data you want to keep, such as Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, etc.
  • Click Keep a Copy to save the data locally.

Step 5: Confirm Sign Out:

  • After selecting the data to keep, click Sign Out again to confirm. This will sign you out of your Apple ID and iCloud services on your Mac.

Once signed out, your iCloud data will no longer sync with your Mac. You can sign back in anytime by following the same steps and entering your Apple ID credentials.

Step 6: Sign in Again

Go to Apple Logo > System Settings > Sign in With Apple ID.

Step 7: Hard Reboot iPhone

Now, Hard Reboot your iPhone – And set up iPhone mirroring again.

  • Quickly Press and release the Volume Up button.
  • Quickly Press and release the Volume Down button.
  • Now, Only Press and hold the power button until you see the Apple logo on the screen.

Step 8: Set up iPhone mirroring
