iMessage is an app for secure communication on iOS devices. You can delete multiple photos from the app or save/copy them for later use in your camera album. Use the below method to remove older iMessage pictures easily.

Why must you try this way?

  • It’s worth noting that iMessage images do not automatically save to the camera roll like WhatsApp.
  • However, by accessing the recipient’s profile details, you can find all the old pictures sent via iMessage. It’s important to remember that unlike audio or video messages, which are deleted after two minutes if you don’t take action to keep them forever.
  • iMessage images can be removed or deleted to manage attachments in messages.
  • This is particularly useful in case of insufficient storage space on your iPhone or iPad.

Step 1: Access the Messages App on your iPhone. Open the desired conversation.
Step 2: Select your Profile Icon from the top.

Step 6: Hit Delete from the bottom right corner and select Delete Attachment for confirmation.

Steps to permanently remove recently deleted attachments in Messages on iPhone

Step 1: Access the Messages App on your iPhone. 
Step 2: In the messages list, perform any of the following.

  • Hit on Edit from the top right corner, then select Show Recently Deleted.
  • Tap Filters from the left top corner, then hit on Recently Deleted

In case you are in conversation, select < to navigate back to the conversation list. 

Step 3: Choose the desired conversation you want to delete permanently, select Delete Messages, and follow the on-screen instructions.

Steps to multiple attachments at once in Messages on Mac

Step 1: Click on Messages from your Mac dock. After this, click on the conversation from which you want to delete attachments.
