Don’t overthink about this feature; you have seen in movies how people use Walkie-Talkie for communication, Apple watch Walkie-Talkie also works on the same principle. The Walkie-Talkie for your Apple watch will be available when you update your watch to watchOS. How to Set Up Walkie-Talkie?

It is straightforward to set up and initiate a conversation on Walkie-Talkie with your friend and family.

Step 1: Launch the “Walkie-Talkie” app on Apple watch.

Step 2: If you are having a conversation with your friends and family members for the first time then you have to tap the “(+)” sign and add them.

Step 3: Once you add them to your list, a request like “John wants to talk with you over Walkie-Talkie” will be displayed on your friend’s watch, if he/she tap “Always Allow” then only you can talk with your friend over Walkie-Talkie.

5 Receive Walkie Talkie Notification on apple watch

Step 4: Finally the Walkie-Talkie is ready. From now onwards if you launch the Walkie-Talkie app Yellow banners will be visible with names.

Step 5: If you want to add more people to talk over Walkie-Talkie, then scroll down until you find (+) and tap on it to add more people.

How to initiate a Walkie-Talkie Conversation?

First off, go to the Walkie-Talkie app. You will get to know if the person is available to talk or not the indicator which is located on the sidebar of the yellow banner.

How to Use Walkie-Talkie? How to Walkie-Talkie Works?

When you open the Walkie-Talkie app on the Apple watch, you will see yellow banners of the added names. Tap on the name you wish to talk over Walkie-Talkie. Now on the whole screen, you will see TALK which is written in a circle. Hold down the TALK button and speak and when you finish speaking than just leave. On the other side, your friend or family member will feel a haptic buzz or a beep as an indicator that you have sent a message so they can take over Apple watch and be ready to listen.

Walkie-Talkie Won’t send audio clip or Message: Issues and Fixes

  • Reset Apple Watch
  • Restart or Reboot Your Apple Watch: Press and Hold Side button + Digital Crown button until apple logo on the screen
