Are you recently updated your iPhone or iPad with the new iOS 15 final Public? And need to downgrade from iOS to earlier iOS version. Here I show you how to downgrade from new to the previous firmware.
Due to important data saved on your iDevice locally, you need to follow the below step very carefully and get the old look of iOS and Everything is fine and perfect like before you are using.
Backup is required to restore all the data back to the iOS device if you choose the restore option after a downgrade to iOS.
This step work for supported iOS running iPhones and the Same steps for running all iPadOS – iPads.
Steps for Downgrade iOS 15.4 to iOS 15.3.1 on iPhone, iPad
Method 1: Downgrade iOS Without Erase & Lossing data
- Download ipsw file for your iphone/iPad model.
- Connect your iPhone to Mac/PC Using Original apple lightning cable, and Open iPhone From finder sidebar on Mac Or From iTunes on Windows PC.
- See the Update option, Press Option key from Keyboard + Click on Update button,
- Browse, and Find Eralier version of .ipsw file and open.
- Now, your Mac/PC will install Earlier version of iOS/iPadOS automatically. it will take some time.
- That’s it.
Method 2: Using Restore Method [Will Erase all Data from Device]
Find Disable Find My iPhone,
Go to the Settings > Tap on Profile Name > iCloud > Find My iPhone > Disable Toggle “Find My iPhone”.
#1: Connect your iPhone to iTunes using a lightning cable. (Accept trust this computer or Mac) and find the iPhone icon in iTunes after sync is complete. || For macOS Mojave or later, Open Finder on Mac > See the iPhone on your Finder sidebar.
#2: Click on the iPhone icon and open the summary page, Find Backup Now button under the Backup section (Select This computer, I recommend don’t encrypt backup because during restore time you need to enter the password correctly).
Note: it doesn’t need if laptop or Mac system is own.
#3: at the same time be ready with the latest iOS 15 (iOS .ipsw) firmware file to save to your local drive. Download iPhone ipsw from here. iPad ipsw, iPod touch ipsw file.
Put your iPhone into recovery mode,
iPhone X (all X series iPhones), iPhone 8/8 Plus: Press and Hold Volume Down button + Side Button until apple logo on iPhone screen. and iTunes says your iPhone detected in recovery mode.
iPhone 7/ iPhone 7 Plus: Press and Hold the Power button and Volume down button until you see the Apple logo to next the lightning cable connecting to iTunes logo.
Prior to iPhone 7 (iPhone 6/6S/iPhone 5S): Press and Hold the power button + Home button until you see the Apple logo and then cable connecting to the iTunes logo.
Press buttons for 10 seconds then release the Power button but continue to Home button your iPhone (for iPhone 7 or Before) and (Volume Down button for iPhone 6 or earlier) until jumped into recovery mode.
- Now iPhone is in restore mode, Click on the Options + Restore button on Mac
- Shift-Click + Restore button to click for Windows.

Browse the downloaded .ipsw file from your local drive.
Wait for restore completed, all the data you will get back (Settings and Data).
Now you are done!
