A microphone is widely used in smart devices, and for now, the sound intensity around your device. If the microphone is disabled or there is a hardware problem, then you can’t record a voice or send a voice message to the social app and voice call.

Force restart iPhone
Quickly press and release the volume up button, quickly press and release the volume down button. Now press and hold on side button until you see the apple logo on the screen.
Reset all settings
iOS device has to many settings for block and disables microphone under privacy and restriction. Reset all the settings to the default value.
Go to the settings – general – reset – reset all settings.
Ambient Noise during Phone Calls
Your Microphone is disturbing ambient noise during the phone call and interrupting unwanted sound while you hold your iPhone’s microphone near to voice. Talk with pure sound and fix low sounding on other ends during a call.
Enable Phone noise cancellation: Go to the Settings > General > Accessibility > Enable Phone Noise Cancellation.

Enable microphone for the specific app
Go to the settings – general – privacy – microphone – enable or disable microphone for the installed app. WhatsApp, Facebook, hike, Instagram, and any other app.
also, check Screen time restrictions, Settings app on iPhone > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > Microphone > Select Allow Changes, and Enable Toggle for the app from the list of app.

Software update iOS
Update old iOS and fix the problem automatically. Settings – general – software update – check for update.
the recenetly latest software update is iOS 12.4 so please make your phone software up to date. Via OTA update or with iTunes on Mac or Pc.
Restore to factory settings on iPhone X
Backup iPhone first, connect your iPhone to updated iTunes on Mac or pc.
Under the device summary – click on restore button option on iTunes.
Restore will wipe all the date and download and install latest iOS.
Useful: iPhone restores in recovery mode.
Clean microphone hole or remove dust
Use a soft baby brush or dust removal napkin to clean-up sensitive microphone areas.
