iPhone Stuck on Apple Logo While Updating iOS 26? Here’s Fix

🗓️ May 13, 2025, By ✍️ Karly Wood

AFTER CLICKING ON THE iOS 18 INSTALL BUTTON. Several iPhone users reported updating to the new software or restoring from backup, and at that time, their iPhone showed up in Black color, and the device was stuck on the Apple logo with the Progress Bar mode. It denotes installation progress. Might you see that progress bar on your iPhone or iPad moving very slowly, or sometimes a loading bar underneath the Apple logo appears that is not moving? Unfortunately, there isn’t any shortcut or traditional way to skip the Apple logo with a progress bar.

And hmm, we’re here talking individual, for lots of brand-new iPhone users reported their problem as their iPhone stuck on the Apple logo and loading bar after updating iOS 18.

This is because the time it takes depends on the number of files stored on your iPhone. By the way, this entire process can take as little as a minute if your brand-new iPhone 15 series has little or no data or if you are doing a factory reset of your iPhone.

Common Causes

  • iOS update failure
  • Jailbreaking issues
  • Restoring from backup error
  • Hardware malfunction
  • Storage is full (especially if low during an update)

Tip to fix iPhone 7 Plus Stuck on Apple logo with Progress Bar

Apple recommended that the user wait until the device completes the process cycle, such as upgrading, restoring, or factory resetting.

For those guys whose iPhone contains a large number of files, the process can take several minutes to an hour.

Solution #1: Force restart your iPhone

Force restart to fix an internal software glitch. Here’s a video tutorial on how to do it correctly!

If the force restart doesn’t work, your iPhone is stuck in the Apple Logo again, so follow the next solutions.

Solution#2: Use Recovery Mode (No Data Loss)

  • Connect your iPhone to a computer.
  • Open iTunes or Finder (on macOS Catalina or later).
  • Force restart your iPhone but keep holding the buttons until you see the Recovery Mode screen (not just the Apple logo).
  • Choose Update (not Restore) to reinstall iOS without erasing data.

Solution #3: Use DFU Mode (if Recovery Mode fails)

  • DFU (Device Firmware Update) lets your iPhone interface with iTunes/Finder without loading the OS.
  • This process erases everything, so use only if you’re okay with losing data or have a backup.

Contact Apple Support

  • If it’s a hardware issue or none of the above work, visit an Apple Store or an authorized service center.

There are two different points:

If your iPhone is connected to a Mac or PC and appears in iTunes, you can configure sync options and sync files until the process is complete. In the end, leave your device attached to iTunes and wait for the whole migration process.

Are you trying an OTA update? Please keep your iPhone connected to the power source so the device won’t run out of power during this process.

If your iPhone runs out of Power, you should connect it to a Power source, such as a wall outlet, and leave it until the updating or restoring process is done.
