iOS 11’s new update, especially for pre-installed apps, are too much improved from functionality and use. In that, some tools might not work correctly due to some internal iOS or App problems. Here’s I tried to cover all the possible errors and causes that help and stop Different apps like Notes, Safari, Files app keeps crashing in iOS 11 on iPhone, iPad.
Compatible iPhone, iPad models: iPhone 8, iPhone x, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7/7 Plus, iPhone 6S/6S Plus, iPhone 6/6 Plus, iPhone 5S.
Fixed out iOS 11 Apps keeps crashing: Notes, Safari, Files, Message, ect..
1: Check for Update
Check and get new iOS update on your iPhone and iPad. Apple New iOS seeds come out with all bug fixes and improvements.
Let’s update iOS from Settings app > General > Software Update.
2: Check for Apps Updates
1: Launch app store on iPhone, iPad.
2: Search Notes app, Files app in app store search box.
Check if any update available, yes – then tap on update button at first.
Other iOS apps – Safari, Photos apps are built-in applications for iDevice.
Most common issues are,
- Unable to create new Note in notes app on iPhone, iPad
- App crashing on Drag and Drop in Files app
- Safari keeps crashing
- Mark up tools in Mail, Photos and Notes app – New mark up tools allow users to draw and make some editing within app under sharing tools.
3: Reset all settings
Have you Make some restriction or passcode for some application that prevents from unauthorized access. Make all the setting to the default value
Go to the Settings > General > Reset
Reset All Settings.
4: Backup and Restore
Backup device: We can take backup iPhone, iPad on iTunes [Recommended, Fast and Easy] or iCloud. Read more Steps: Backup iPhone
Erase All Contents: After that reset all the settings and content. Go to the Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Content and Settings.
Restore: Connect your iOS device, Put in DFU Mode and install new iOS then restore the old backup on iPhone, iPad. Know about: Clean install
5: Safari keeps crashing after update
Large safari (History and Website Data) data saved on iPhone local storage. Remove it from Settings,
Go to the Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data.
6: iOS beta installed, Remove Beta
Remove beta profile from iPhone settings, Switch iOS beta to the public.
Or clean install explained in above 4th step.
7: Downgrade iOS device: iOS 11 to iOS 10
App crashing is a too big issue for you, want to use app urgently, and none of above solution works then downgrade to latest final version.
Note: Files app is not available in iOS 10 or before. Other apps Safari, Notes we can use in iOS 10 or earlier.
