1: Open Messages app on iPhone, iPad.
- Get Messages list from Contacts & SMS
- Hide alert from Unknown Senders
- Search Messages with recipients name [And Hide alert for that conversation]
2: Slide Right to left on Messages list,
3: Tap on “Hide Alerts”.
Once you enable hide alerts or stop alerts, Grey moon icon will show in front of the Message.

Are you not getting text message alerts in iOS on iPhone, iPad check these steps?
Go to the Settings app on iPhone, iPad.
Next to the Settings > Messages
Under the Alerts, Disable Show on the cover sheet for hiding message notification on the lock screen. And another important setting for Banner is also there (Temporary or Persistent).
Unable to find conversation from list of Message
Search with Name of your conversation, Open conversation on iPhone screen.
Tap on (i) icon at the right corner of the screen, Find option on hiding Alerts
Enable toggle for hiding Alerts.
Message Repeat alerts settings
Another important setting is Repeat alerts, by default repeat alerts is two times on every single notification on the lock screen.
Set it never that means you will hear notification sound only one time for one new message.
New Message alerts repeat at two minutes intervals.
